Being Fitted For Your Golf ClubsOff-the-shelf golf clubs are created for people of average size, but real people are all different. Since everybody is a different size, and has differences in their golf swing, one size of golf club is simply not suitable for everyone! Playing with incorrectly sized golf clubs can cause problems, and stop golfers from playing as well as they otherwise could. In short, if you want to play your best golf, you need clubs specifically chosen to suit your body and style of play! The first step in finding the right golf clubs for youis simply to try out different golf clubs at different golf courses and driving ranges. If you can rent golf clubs, this is the best and most affordable way, to try out different clubs. You do need to give each clubs a proper go - play a few rounds of golf with them - as you are unlikely to immediately know if they are right for you. As a rule of thumb however, golf clubs should generally be about the same length as the distance between you belly button and the ground. Once you have tried out several sets of clubs, it is time to think about being professionally fitted for a set of clubs by the PGA professional at your golf club or range. Of course, if you're just starting to play golf, you will want to make sure that you really do like the game before investing in an expensive set of clubs! Additionally, before spending a lot of money on golf clubs, it's a good idea to make sure that you can consistently repeat a swing - otherwise you could end-up simply wasting your money! When you go to the professional, he will probably start by asking you to hit a few balls. You should try to loosen up and hit the ball as normally as possible. The professional will record you swing speed, and use this information to determine the correct flex for you. The professional will also determine the correct length of club for you, and probably look at your hands to see if you need any special grips. Additionally, club angles might need to be adjusted. Once you are done, the professional should be able to make recommendations concerning each of the following:
